Syro-Malabar Diocese of Chicago.
a) Appointment of Fr. Mutholath as Syncellus
Immediately following the creation of the diocese, KCCNA met with Mar Angadiyath and demanded that a VG must be appointed with administrative independence for the Knanaya community. Instead, Mar Angadiyath appointed Fr. Mutholath as the Syncellus (Asst. VG) in his diocese with no administrative independence. Fr. Mutholath’s interests of Knanaya community was only one among the several portfolios assigned to him.

ReplyDeleteThey do not understand the difficulty of middle class people unless they go through our situations. They just involved with very few rich who makes money with some trick or luck but most of us are really fear to follow their paths. They should not allow any more church modification or sent the money to other missions unless they pay finish the present church debts.

ReplyDeleteDo not pay any single penny to the mission. Try to convince people who are like KAYYALA PURATHE THENGA. THEY ARE SCARE. If THE CHURCH IS not doing anything for the next generation our community is going to finish in AMERICA. But muthu, bishop and some priests are not care about that. They do not have family and kids. They are not going to lose anything. They want their CHAIR and the HARD WORKING PEOPLE'S MONEY.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of American churches and some pick Syromalabar ones for some better quality and services in own language. But most of us are not happy they are now expensive and no standards, so those who concerns about the faith and young generation are going back to American Churches. Just for socialization or entertainment we got plenty of other associations and clubs. If you are rich or willing to dance with Pranci brothers and sisters it may be ok now.
ReplyDeleteI feel guilty and all I hear is bring more and more money to church. We start with nothing and we have two place to gathering. Jesus was teaching on the plain grounds and most American churches started with nothing and they get big through the hard work of its Pasters.
ReplyDeleteMost of us not well educated and do not know how to express their feelings. So don't take advantage on them. Just understand you are making your own graveyard from these dirty politics. So just try to do the right and good for you and your community.
ReplyDeleteThe Church leaders will have life only for, barely, one more generation (30 years). Even that will be with much less people. The immigration to US has gone down significantly due to India's good economy. Actually, reverse migration has already started. At least 10 knanaya families have gone back in just this year.
ReplyDeleteThe second generation kids do not even want to come to our churches once they turn 15. Sure, the pranchi's kids are coming now but not the others. As long as America remains a free country and Achans keep making the mass long and CCD very cumbersome, all we can say is "Good Luck" to Syro-Malabar Qurbana's and churches.
On the other hand, people will continue to want social gatherings and thus associations have a good future.
