Most of the faithful except those who support and benefit illegal activities under the name of God are not happy about what is going on our Church. Jesus says there is only one Door to have and the way is very narrow and difficult. Onam stands for truth and unity and Church should be true role modal for the faithful not to the some rich and its poor servants.
ReplyDeleteAll class rooms are over the limit and we have three class in the basement with no proper ventilation and fresh air with over 200 children. I do not think it is safe and appropriate. Why don't they use this room for one class ? Are our children safe here ? Children see adults drink and act out when them they take children home.

DeleteYou are totally worng.You mentioned lot of people admire Kaniyali.But there are lot of people who doesn't like Kaniyali.Just because of his arrogance.I happened to talk to a Non-Knanaite today about the KCS election and the filthy defaming game happening thorugh the blogs by both Panels. His first response was "Do you think Kaniyali is going to Win?" When I mentioned I am not sure, he said he knows Kaniyali for past many years and he thinks he is not a People guy and has lot of Proud and attitude. And I have noticed the same. In his opinion he just mingles with the filthy rich in the community and pretends to be one among them when he is not really. For the past many years I have been attending the same church where he attends the Sunday service, but until the date his candidacy was announced he never cared about even saying a Hello to any ordinary parish people including me. He always thinks he is Superior to all the others just because he owns a news paper and was a KCCNA president once.That is not a good quality for a Leader. A real Leader should be people friendly and approachable.Same goes with his wife too. As a couple they have distanced themselves from the community and prefer to be just close to handful of "Prachis" if you would like to brand them like that. But needless to say, Kaniyali has good communication and Mentoring skills I believe compared to Thottapuram.But he needs to correct many other areas and come out of that Corporate Culture and adopting American Capitalism. Because we the Kananaites are very straight and consider ourselves at par with anyone else especially in America as we all lead a decent life and make a good living here and don't consider anyone superior evenif they prefer to think in that way. So come out of that shell and deal with the reality then people will acknowledge you and respect you as we are equally intelligent as like you and eat the same food as like you. Install good quality video camera in the rectory with night vision. I think people should have the legal right to see what is happening inside there when our priests are not staying. Is it legal and appropriate to have rectory inside church. If not who is responsible for wasting hundred thousand dollar.
ReplyDeleteWe needs to put video camera to all rooms for safety reason. There are plenty of children and if we miss one we can locate a child and also document any illegal activities. Some children and even teachers acting out and parents do have the right to see what is going on with their children and private rooms.

Can some one report to the local police department about the illegal activities. It is a serious crime to use alcohol in church and school parking lot and they should have a permit to serve it to the public. Why don't they take the friends to KK Homes and serve and share their love and spirit or go the near by BARS or Dance Clubs.

Alcohol consumers need to take immediate measures to stop the abuse of church facilities . Also those who are against it need to be vigilant and raise awareness in our fellow brothers and convince them with the impact of it. DeleteThey build a room for priests in St. Mary's by spending $75000.00. No priest never spent a night there. The people lost their money. Fr. Mutholam and KK group did not loose anything......Why the priests can not stay there. If they can not stay there, why they spent $80000 for that. Dear people, they are simply cheeting you.

ReplyDeleteIf you are really honest and sincere about these allegations, why don't you expose this to the public. Take Video Tape of such illegal activities, report to police. Probably you cannot do it because you join them, have the lovely peg and enjoy the beef fry. You guys may be 100% right but no one trusts people in Chicago because the image you have is that of ‘Opportunists’. You guys change your position like a chameleon changing color. We have seen some of you back stabbing Fr. Mutholam and Pranchees and next day massaging their feet and filling their glasses with Hennessy. The leaders and blabbermouths in Chicago needs to look in to themselves and find a way to win the lost trust by their own actions discarding selfish/self-centered politics.

We all know the politics of priest(s)/Bishops and people surrounding them. We are aware of Alcohol in Church. You guys do a good job in exposing and succeeded in letting the church know the times have changed and the old ways of pastor-ship won’t work. There is a big difference between the Corrupt fighting the Corruption and the Honest people fighting the Corruption.
We are so much impressed about your comments and kind words from the heart.We have several video clips from both churches regarding alcohol usage and some other nasty criminal activities. Reporting to police about what is happening is our last choice.We may be wrong in that. But fact is we are really confused about the aftermath of this reporting. Truly we are here to protect our community and our families. Please find the way to help your own family and then our community. We are optimistic and things will change with the help of Holly Spirit.Believe God and pray not in any more our some of the Priest and Bishops.

Zoning is permitting us to have rectory inside our church ? Do we have right permit when we did the rectory build out ? Who is behind this idea and who is responsible for this decision to waste this much money ? we could paid that much money to our principle amount. There is no resale value for this act and we could bought two town homes near our church which is available for under $50,000.00 at that time and still now. Mutholam lead Maywood church and wasted over one and half million dollar before he left as a vicar. He is doing the same in St.Mary's Church. God bless Knanaya Community.
ReplyDeleteI cant hide a secret any more guys! The Rectory bathrom clogged twice. Ende friend first time neril kandau. Clogged with rubber (urakal). Same situation second time as well. School il pokatha KK came up with a solution to avoid third time payment(samanya budhi).collect the uras in a zip lock bag and throw it in the street when entertainment is done and return. The Kottayam guy is expert in that (dayvame, evan athu vandiyal marannu vaikkaruthe ). Poor Morton Grove city.

Muthu discussed with same pranchi Trustees about making the Rectory available for desperate people. One condition Rectory will not be available when any priest have to stay there for any reason. Also there will be special discount for people who complete four hours. Fifth hour is free and a punching card will be available at office front desk.
ReplyDeleteMuthu and Pranchis are expecting people will rent for one hour and will be vacating within fifteen to twenty minutes. This could generate more income like Motel business.
The people who contribute highest amount in renting the Rectory will be posted in Golden letters in the hallway.This will be calculated based on yearly calculation. Renting policy is first come first served and online registration will be accepted through Knanaya region website.

DeleteI apologize for deviating from the subject at hand but I feel like it is never too late to post the following comment. I had sent the same comments to Northamericankna blog also.
ReplyDeleteChurch should NOT be in the business of making profits. They should be serving the faithful and doing the charity work (which in turn spreads the faith by example). This is what Jesus asked us and shown us by example. Remember, he is the one who threw out the merchants from the church.
If we are into hospitals and schools then that should be for the service of the people. If you need money then collect it from the public and offer free service or service for a small fee. When the church collects money from the public and then charges hefty fees, it becomes greed. Uzhavoor college, BCM college, and Carithas hospital was used to be a good contributor to Knanaya social/class mobility. They enabled hardworking poor and middle class families to get ahead in life. It was a wonderful service to our community. Now, we are starting to charge hefty fees for students, teacher appointments, etc and at the same time, offering poor salaries to the employees(ex. RS. 2000/3000 a month to nurses).
Don't blame the people for losing respect to the church leadership because they brought it upon themselves. Personally, i have contributed a lot of money to the church (as much as I can since I am not a business man). But, I have stopped because I see that the money is used without any planning and even after collecting enough money, Church is becoming even greedier. I am not a fan of the associations (because of the lack of vision and any tangible benefit it offers to the people other than convention, Olympics, etc.). I was a fan of the church because it offered us spiritual benefits. Now, as the Church starts to get greedy and deviates from Jesus' mission, it is not differentiating itself from other profit making organizations.
You can defend it all you want but when one sees the constant fund collection at the church and the adamant refusal to be accountable and transparent in spending the money, it has lost the credibility.
Recently, in a pothuyogam at the Maywood church for the discussion of the CCD fees, one "prominent" person suggested to treat CCD as a gas station where profit is the only motive. Obviously, people opposed his idea but when considering that the idea was proposed by the DRE himself (the person in charge of teaching the children about Bible where Jesus, specifically, told us not to use the church for business), can you blame the public for questioning the credibility of the Achan and the Church? This DRE is fully supported by the Achan. He went on to even suggest that he will never replace this DRE as he is a good financial contributor to the Achan.
Anyway, it is sad that we are at a stage where even the young is asking questions like "Why does the Achan need a big house?, or Why are we collecting money everyday", etc.
Only Jesus can save the community now!

DeleteDo you mean C.C.E- Continuing Catholic Education/ [Catholic Continuing Education] For C.C.E.you need money to provide study meterials,children's snack etc.
Usualy the sunday collections uses for maintainence, cleaning the church and school facilities etc.Teach the child about the expenses in your home,and the management.
Oh, that is why you guys proposed treating church as a gas station. I propose that you work with Achan to sell gas station stuff like toilet paper for $5, drug paraphernalia, etc.

Other expenses are covered by weekly collection and annual fee. Man, I know how much money is being collected every year. I see the account first hand. So, please pick the argument with some one else on this.
I repeat: The Church should not be in the business of making profits. That deviates from Jesus' teaching.

ReplyDeleteif achan says in my church and its premises there should not be liquor served and if he entrust a group to make sure that this is done, I think the whole problem can be solved... Achan has to take the initiative.. Please achaa.... do something to save our community.. we need money, but money alone will not help us in our growth. the socalled praanchiyettans are so powerful and rich that they influence all our decisions.. tell them strongly about liquor policy in church and its premises...

Please try to be truthful to yourself and that way you can honest to God. The above your comments will reflect who you are and what is your intention is. Everybody Coming to our Church knows what is happening there. We are challenging you and all the little lamb to take this matter and conduct an independent investigation from a third party. Let our Bishop from Kottayam or Chicago do this job. Try your best efforts to purify our Church. If you are waiting for Jesus to come and do this job, that will never happen and he showed us what we should do if anybody make mess in house. Follow the same what he did in Jerusalem Temple.
